Abstract

This work is a study of a case using as research verbal histories of Dorcelina Folador Nesting inhabitants lives’, in the city of Arapongas, North of Paraná, aiming at investigating the level of emancipation and social inclusion reached, in the researched agents, after their ingression in the MST and the consequent conquest of the land. One strong influence of the Church in the formation of identities in the majority of the narratives was observed, as well as the existence of contradictions in some levels, that are articulated from the subjectivity of each one that were interviewed to the form where they insert in the social and national context. By virtue of the those interviewed are militants identified with ideas and proposal of the Movement, the research discloses a strong ideological component in the narrative and, at the same time, conflicts of existential order when the fight for the land gives place to the fight in the land for the survival, inside the compatible standards with the human dignity. The idea of emancipation assimilated by the agents, that are object of the research, is presented not only as the conquest of the land, but also as the biggest classification about the aspects of the current conjuncture and the evolution of the citizens’ rights. The inclusion feeling is determined by the fact of they become citizens inserted in a social movement and in a community, where similar ideas and dreams commune. It was also observed, inside of MST, the necessity of being deeper reflections on the sort question, as well as existences and familiar questions of the militants that get involved excessively in the activities of the Movement.
